Alec Walker is a man without a home. A wanderer, he travels the globe, helping where he can and attempting to balance the scales in the ongoing war between the human and supernatural world.

But Alec carries a very strange secret with him; he is a Knight, one of a small group of men gifted with incredible powers said to have been granted by God himself. These powers give Alec the ability to make a real difference, but they come at a price: they are dangerously addictive and if used too much they can cause untold damage. Over the years, Alec and his team have worked with a great many people, including members of the DSR on occasion.

Now things have changed. Five months ago, the entire ruling sect of the House of Cain – the biggest vampire organization in Europe since the fall of the Brotherhood – was wiped out in one night. A new leader has emerged – a leader with untold desire for control over the supernatural world.

This one act has changed the balance of power across the entire world, and the emergence of this new leader will have severe consequences for everyone. Alec and his team are charged to ascertain what his plans are, and to prevent the already delicate balance of power in the vampire world from tipping into outright disaster.
