Tony Vincenzo is the editor in chief of The LA Beacon. Hardened by experience and perhaps a little cynical, he nonetheless shows great faith and allegiance in his old friend Carl Kolchak, giving him a position at the newspaper in spite of the controversy that surrounds him.

Luckily for Carl, Tony doesn't believe for a second that Kolchak is guilty of murdering his wife, Irene, and this has put a strain on his once cordial relationship with FBI Agent Bernie Fain.
