SELENE DU MIETTE (played by Sharon den Adel)

At 30 years old, Selene du Miette was robbed of her life in Paris, 1486, when an attempt to stop the Inquisition from spreading led to her murder. In 2009, Selene is slowly adapting to the modern world, and is equal parts determined and fragile because of her...unique situation. Though Selene is likely the most powerful witch in the northern hemisphere and an expert on supernatural phenomenon, she relies on her friends to explain the world around her and lead her in the right direction.

In contrast to Selene's ancient authority, Lunette Dillon is very much the modern witch. Daughter of hippy, alternative, Pagan parents, and managing the part of Nicholas' business that grows and sells herbs and remedies, it would be a mistake to label Lunette as merely a 'new-ager'. At 22, she may seem young and lost sometimes, but Lunette takes pride in her strength of mind and magick.

NICHOLAS CHANCE (played by Jonathan Rhys Meyers)

Nicholas Chance is Lunette's boyfriend, having moved to Paris to be with her. After his father's death a month ago, Nicholas was forced to take over 'Les Magique' - a bookstore full of ancient and arcane books. Though his father was a witch, Nicholas is not; he had little experience with the supernatural before meeting Lunette, and sometimes begrudges the fact that he can't be more useful.

However, his researching skills, fierce protection and sarcastic tongue are often a welcome addition to the group.

AVELINE LAURENT (played by Simone Simons)

A 19 year old art student, Aveline Laurent isn't used to being part of a family. Her father travels extensively on business and her mother has been working in India for several years - but despite this, Aveline prides herself in being a student at one of the most prestigious universities in Paris. But when Aveline 'feels' Selene's use of magick on her first night back in Paris, her life changes almost immediately. What could be the connection?

ARNAUD BLANC (played by Burn Gorman)

30 year old Arnaud Blanc is a local police officer, who is used to dealing with strange and unusual cases. Shortly after Selene's arrival in Paris, he begins to deal with several cases that lead him directly to her involvement. With a suspicious mind and a determination to match only Selene's, it won't be long before the truth may be forced to reveal itself.
