On a calm day two years ago, thousands of demons appeared, seemingly out of nowhere, intent on slaughtering the human race. In one night, an estimated 2 billion people died. Over the next couple of years, the demons continued their genocide, leaving less than 500 million humans alive today. Only a handful of large settlements remain. Most of these are run by the Solvoist movement, a religious group who view the demons as angels, come to cleanse the world with a fiery sword. But some humans are managing to stay alive. Several pockets of people have yet to be rooted out and killed. One such group exists within a small city in the northern United States. |

RAY TIMOR, a former US marine, is the leader of this small group of ragtag survivors. He’s taken shelter inside an old, abandoned jail, along with several others, including his younger brother, JAKE. Jake was accompanied by his former teacher BARBARA, and the two maintain a close relationship, which is something Ray doesn’t like, as he thinks Jake is romantically interested in Barbara, despite the fact that she is more than ten years his senior. |

Former marine comrade-in-arms TRAVIS O’TEGGAL travelled back to the states with Ray after the invasion. Despite the fact that the relationship between the two has soured as of late, Travis is still loyal to Ray, and still trusts his judgement. The final member of the team is STEPHANIE HABERCHUK, who moves into the jail shortly after meeting Ray and the team. But regardless of what they are going through, Ray and his new family can only do what they do every day: try to survive in this harsh new world. They aren’t out to save the human race, and they aren’t out looking for a Deus Ex Machina way to restore the world to how it once was. They’re just trying to survive to see tomorrow. |
