For centuries, the Gods watched over this world. Their job was to keep everything on Earth in order, but things didn't go as plan. The Gods became greedy and violent, forgetting all about the world they where supposed to be protecting - all they really wanted was power.

To save his Gods from themselves and the world, the King of the Gods took swift and drastic action. He condemned them all to lives as mortals, forcing them to live and die in an never ending cycle until they had learnt their lesson, or until they were needed...

Then, in the 21st Century, they were called, pulled out of their normal lives and back into action. Art student April Clay was having a lecture when the Keeper Barbara turned up for her, Leo North was drinking in a bar, and fortunately for her, Jayne Woods was bleeding to death on a restaurant floor when she was saved by the timely intervention of Benjamin, her Keeper.

The Keepers aren't the powerfully structured and regimented organisation they used to be, however - centuries of waiting for the Gods to return has led to their order being all but dissolved, with only a few Elder Keepers (such as Barbara) keeping the proud legacy going, hoping that tomorrow may be the day the Gods are finally called back to Earth.

An added complication means that the Gods can no longer be seen by their families and loved ones - their physical bodies are shrouded in powerful magics that mask them from anyone who used to know them. Once you become a God, there is no way to return to your old life...

With just six months to master their abilities before the really big trouble starts, things aren't going to be easy. With shape shifting demons, faces from the past, death and their own personal feelings about what's going on to contend with, this is going to be one hell of a journey...
