Jay Everington |
Showrunner, Executive Producer |
Born and raised in North Carolina, where hunting, fishing, and country music are king, the last thing you would ever expect to see Jay Everington doing is writing a Spider-Man script. Still, after several years of dabbling in the world of virtual series', he finally decided it was time to take the plunge and pitch Gifts & Curses to MZP. Lucky him! The series was picked up in late 2006, and penciled into the lineup starting with the fall '07 season.
Jay was first introduced to the VS world through Star Trek: Renaissance, which he maintains to this day is the greatest virtual series of all time! He joined the staff of Star Trek: Frontiers in June of 2004 as an editor, but was soon promoted to co-executive producer, a position he held until October of 2006, when he began developing Gifts & Curses in earnest.
The ideas that would eventually become G&C had been bouncing around in Jay's head for close to two years before he finally began to put them down on paper. The idea first came to him while watching Spider-Man 2 for the first time on DVD. Imagining how much better the story could have been had they had several episodes to tell it in, Jay began putting ideas together that resembled a mixture of the movies, the Ultimate Spider-Man comics, and Smallville. |

J.B. Gibson |
Executive Producer |
J.B. Gibson has been an avid writer and reader of science fiction and comic books since his younger days over a decade ago. J.B. has lived pretty much all over the country until he was forced to take residence in the moderately general state of Georgia.
He became attached to comic books in the 90's due to the art work. It wasn't until later on that he began to focus on his writing skills and after the cancellation of the show Starship Troopers: The Roughneck Chronicles, he joined a talented group of writers who were hoping to continue on the series in a 'Second Season fanfic This fell through, James tried to carry it on on his own only to have it fall through after 15 completed episodes.
As a big fan of both comics (X-Men and Spider-Man especially) and an avid writer, Gifts & Curses seemed like a dream opportunity. James brings a love for Battlestar Galactica's dramatic writing and Marvel's incredibly rich mythos to the table and is ready to see this one through to the end. |

Shannon Hardy |
Supervising Producer |
Shannon Hardy is in no relation to Felicia Hardy, but she certainly shares the catty comic book character's love of Spider Man. Shannon was born in the southern United States and currently resides a stone's throw from the ocean - and Jay - in North Carolina.
A southern belle and full-time housewife, most would find Shannon an unlikely fan of the webbed wall-crawler. That is, until they discovered that she is also a working artist and free-lance illustrator with a comic book obsession. Shannon is one of those rare girls that could rival her male-gendered peers for comic book adoration. She was introduced to MZP by a friend who encouraged her to pitch her own series. In the process, she found herself drawn (pun-intended!) into working with Jay on "Gifts and Curses".
Shannon loved the concept of doing a Spider Man series in the vein of Smallville and feels that "Gifts and Curses" could be a true winner. Presently she is only working on one episode for the first season and has plans for illustrating the first episode into comic book form. |

Robert Kenneth |
Supervising Producer |
A longtime Spider-Man fan, Rob Kenneth jumped at the offer to join Gifts & Curses. Also being a fan of The Punisher, as well as the greater Marvel Universe, writing the episode "Vengeance" was too good to pass up.
Rob started writing a number of years ago, but only recently began doing scripts. Hailing from the middle of Canada, Rob's best option for practice was online, and MZP was (and still is!) quite clearly the place to learn what's what in the script writing business. After joining a number of shows as a staff writer, Rob worked his way into producer positions for G&C, Connor, and Slayer Academy.
Rob also has his own show, Hunted, that airs on MZP as well. |

Bobby Torres |
Supervising Producer |
Bobby Torres was born in Mayaguez, Puerto Rico, and raised in various parts of New Jersey until 2004, when he moved down to Florida.
In the years inbetween he's lived, loved, laughed, cried, discovered the wonderful world of comic books and science fiction, made friends, made enemies, burned bridges, buried hatchets, and ultimately found the girl of his dreams and is now happily married. All this before his 26th birthday if you can believe that.
Bobby discovered the wonderous world of Virtual Television a year or so ago, in the pursuit of virtual continuations of shows that were cancelled way too soon.
He came across a wonderful world where he would be able to better express his thoughts, and allow his imagination and creativity to blossom and grow, by lending a hand, and his two cents to various projects, to help shape the course of events that allow great creativity to blossom and grow as well. |

Jamel Baker |
Staff Writer |
West Philadelphia born and raised, at least until he moved to Cheltenham, a nice little section of Philly. It’s quiet, but that’s not that big of deal when the city can sometimes be a headache. Jamel Baker is an individual who likes to look at life as an obstacle. An obstacle that for some reason gets harder and more of a pain in the ass as the years go on. He considers family the most important part of his life and despite the fact that they sometimes drive him up the wall and cause him to pull out his hair.
Jamel is an avid TV viewer and loves to watch anything that catches his eye. Though he may be a little late on some things, Alias and the X-Files, he still tries his best to catch up on it when possible. When it comes to reading he is defiantly not one to do it, but that was in the past. Now he tries to pick up every book possible from fiction to non-fiction to read. Jamel will try to find any kind of medium that will help in his run to become an accomplished writer. To him it’s not about being a world renowned writer with his face on cups, but just a city boy who can write his ass off.
Though he's never read that many comics he knows the world of many of them from reading his big brother’s collection, to discovering the world of wikipedia. Jamel has always had a fascination with telling stories and creating universes and worlds where characters can face as many obstacles, sometimes life or death ones, as he did. And now thanks to an opportunity to write for Gifts & Curses, he can share his talent with other people. This being his first for a VS, he plans to contribute all his effort to G&C for many seasons, and tell stories that will amaze all who read.

Harrison Cartwright |
Staff Writer |
An Australian, through-and-through, Harrison Cartwright hails from coastal Sydney. He currently wastes away his life as a high-school student, and has a passion for reading, writing, and anything of that vein.
As one of the youngest of the writers for Gifts & Curses, Harrison is still a relative newbie to the writing game. In fact, his big writing debut at Monster Zero Productions will consist solely of 13-odd pages in the 6th episode of G&C. Harrison is currently working on a few projects, including a hybrid of The O.C. and Charmed that he hopes to one day pitch to MZP.
Harrison found Gifts & Curses one afternoon while lurking around MZP and, already being a fan of Smallville, was hooked on the concept.
He couldn't beleive his luck when he saw that they were still advertising for writers on the show, and he realized the stars must have aligned for him when, even after sending him one of the poorest writing samples in VTV historY (Jay's note - not true!) he still managed to get hired.
However, that was then, and this is now. Things have changed, and, aimed with his copy of Final Draft, Harrison hopes to bring the MZP readership stories that won't make them cry for Cancellation. |

Mr. Pryor entered the Virtual Series world when he found Beamaster: Virtual Season 4, he thought that this was great; people carrying the spirit of the show after it's cancellation.
He became more envolved in the world, however, when Angel was cancelled. He helped set up Angel: The Virtual Series. Then went on to join the Hunted staff, while giving his momentous ideas for this show as well.
He was first introduced to Spider-Man when he was very young. He instantly fell in love with the character and more importantly the character of the Lizard. He currently is gettting the subscription to the Amazing Spider-Man title and getting the new Ultimate Spider-Man graphic novels. |

Mike Weiss |
Media Producer |
From the depths of the Philadelphia suburbs is a man like no other, Mike Weiss is greatness personified. Mike has many skills in Photoshop and Marcomedia Flash. He has an internet cartoon series which is extremely popular among a very small circle of people... sort of.
Mike has always thought about what it would be like working on a Comic Book show when he saw a post request help for a virtual series.
This is his first time working on one and with his favorite character none the less. He would make the promotional intros, both animated and live action and help the team as a producer.
With inspiration from the Ultimate Spider-Man Comics, and awesome shows like 24 and Full Metal Alchemist he foresees that this series will kick ass. |
