After giving the matter a great deal of thought, I've decided to take an extended break from showrunning. Obviously, this means G&C will be going on indefinite hiatus, though for how long I cannot say as I don't even know how long I plan for this break to last.
The reasons for this are primarily due to how busy my life has become over the last six months, and with my graduation and job search on the horizon, how much busier it's likely to become in the future. I'd be lying, however, if I blamed this solely on real life. I've also have been having increasing difficulty getting myself motivated to write; it's become a task, and frankly it's just not fun anymore, hence the reason for taking a break. Perhaps I'll try writing just for the fun of it again during this break, or perhaps once things settle down on my end I'll have more time to devote to writing and find that simply having that extra time makes it more enjoyable. For the moment, though, I just can't say.
2.01 RELEASE
Sadly, this means the planned 2nd season of G&C won't be launching this July. However, in the interest of not leaving you guys hanging, and also to give new readers who will pick up the show in the future a more complete season, I've decided to release what was originally planned to be the season 2 premiere episode.
Rather than simply releasing the episode as 2.01, though, it will instead be merged with the season 1 finale episode (1.13: Lockdown) into one double-length script that will serve as the new "official" season 1 finale. Obviously, new readers won't notice the change, but those of you who have already read 1.13 will want to either re-read the first half of the script, or pick up on act 5, which is where the new material will begin.
The episode - including the new material - will be re-released tomorrow night; Monday May 11th, 2009 just as any new episode would be released. I hope everyone understands that this was the last thing I wanted to do, but things haven't exactly worked out the way I had planned and I feel this is for the best. But do know that I still do plan to continue with G&C at some point in the future. It WILL be back!
