About Gifts & Curses

Spider-Man: Gifts & Curses is an adaptation/re-imagining of Spider-Man, featuring a young Peter Parker as he attempts to cope with personal tragedy, while balancing school, work, his friends, and a budding romance, with his secret life as the masked crime fighter known to the world as Spider-Man.

Peter was your average 12 year old. Smart, funny, and friendly. Then came the death of his parents, and all that changed. Peter began to withdraw from his friends, family, and school work. He began ignoring his former best friend, Mary Jane Watson, and became a loner, with no real friends to speak of.

Fast forward four years, and Peter's life is finally starting to come together. He meets the charismatic young Eddie Brock, and the vulnerable Gwen Stacy, who like Peter has lost her parents. He also begins to reconcile with Mary Jane, but just as things are looking up, Peter is bitten by a genetically-enhanced spider on a school field trip, and begins to develop amazing, spider-like abilities as a result.

When Peter's Uncle Ben is killed in a random act of violence, Peter is once again faced with the loss of a loved one, and must make a decision about how to handle it this time around. Little does Peter know, his friends have no intention of letting him face this tragedy alone. As he begins to cope with his uncle's death, and finally learns the extent of his newfound abilities, Peter learns that with great power, there must also come great responsibility...

Project: Renaissance is the U.S. government's attempt to use the mutant x-gene to create the perfect soldier. OsCorp CEO Norman Osborn is able to secure the contract for the project, but when crime lord Wilson Fisk gets winds of the situation, things take a deadly turn. Meanwhile, S.H.I.E.L.D. head Nick Fury is assigned the difficult task of overseeing the project, and ensuring all goes well.
