Me and Scotty have been doing this kind of thing for DSR, Schism & Walker for YEARS.

Long as plenty of people chip in, this is a sure fire winner.

Yes, I, for one, feel this has incredible potential - we can literally discuss ANY hot topic of the moment, and anyone is welcome to put their name forward to join our panel in the future! (Just shoot me a PM.)

Until the podcast officially airs, feel free to ponder which bit of Chris you'll be able to hear, and exactly how controlling the hypnotic dulcet tones of Mr Adam Scott really are...

It's a simple enough format. We use Skype to have a mass conference call - Adam plays host, I play irritating guest #1, and then we can have up to about three other guests for each podcast.

We use topics that have been fairly popular over the last few days to use as jumping-off points for discussions, and then we riff away. Cue enlightening and entertaining debate. And, in the case of me and Matt, innuendo followed by punches to the back of the head.

It should all become much clearer when the edited pilot airs!

What we'd like to do is have regular members, a la Have I Got News for You or QI, and then rotate special guests in and out as we go. So if we figure that the panel's going to be me, Matt, Pete and Trix (all of whom have said they'd love to do this) then every episode could have one or two other people rotating in and out. One idea I've been pondering is for us to actually interview some of the staff members if that would work.

Makes sense to have Adam as Stephen Fry, Pete as Alan Davies, Matt as the other captain - and then rotate maybe two positions per podcast.

Except that would involve giving Trix the boot and I'd rather not do that. It's nice to have a girl on the team, it stops Pete from being as filthy as normal. Believe it or not, he toned it down last night.

Maybe one of the lads takes it in turn then, depending on who's up for this - I think have two guests per week would make it even better.

Wait wait wait.

Firstly, Tony called Latham "Matt" for what I believe may be the first time EVER.

Secondly, yes, I'm up for having a female member on board each time. And I'm glad you noticed I toned myself down a bit. It's a courtesy I extend to the ladies. Well, one of the things I extend to the ladies.  ;)

Apologies.

And thirdly, I can't see why having six people would be a problem - Adam's a damn good host, he will make sure everyone gets opportunity to say their piece.

You don't want TOO many though - sometimes it's hard enough to prevent words being lost/interruptions with three people, let alone double. You're pushing it with four, really.

I think the only serious mainstays should be Adam (given he's recording it) and Pete (since it was his idea).

There is some merit in that - I think we were at maximum capacity at five, to be honest.

Yea I'd say we pulled off the not talking over each other rather well (see that proved wrong when we listen back) but I think trying to push too many people on the show is asking for trouble.

I've already said that I'd happily sit out whenever there are other members willing to jump on board with this.

It is nice having a female member but maybe some of the other female members would be willing to have a go and I really don't think having an all guy show is a bad thing.

Just as long as we get a nice rotation as there are plenty of people I'd love to hear from especially on the interviewing idea.

I don't see myself actually taking part in all of them. I'm going to be involved in the planning/overseeing but if we can spice up the variety then I'll be glad to take a back seat or several.

Hmmm...

Let's have a think. Adam has to remain as host. If you want me to stay, I'm prepared to do it each and every time (as long as I'm available). I believe if we have five people, then a ratio of 4:1 male-female is probably accurate to the number of members on the board, really. At least, active ones. Which means that we have two male guest spots rotating and one female. We don't have to have new people each time, but I'd like to see at least one new face.

Would everyone be OK with that?

I vote four.

Adam, Pete, two rotating guests. Having done podcasts with you two before, we often interrupt/talk over each other accidentally and four would be just manageable - plus this makes it more varied in terms of people involved.
