Six strangers board a late night, red-eye train in Los Angeles. The train vanishes from the tracks, taking its passengers to a world beyond our own, forcing them to work together in order to survive and to truly understand the world they've entered...

First thought: this is a long script, REALLY long. I think, clocking in at 130 pages, it's the longest script I've read on MZPtv. As such I'm going to divide reading and reviewing into two, starting with Chris' own designated part one and two:

And now, the final half:

To recap, The Passengers - no pun intended - goes off the rails a bit in the second half as the first half, while nicely done, sets up a different story to what happens. Look beyond the way, way too many characters and there's some great things going on, especially with Sally, which shows the emotional core that is needed you're dealing with man verses the end of the world.

Thanks for the notes, Chris and while I'm sorry you didn't enjoy the whole thing, I'm glad there was stuff and characters that you definitely connected to and liked. The pace was something experimental by being slower and the film, whilst definitely being in two halves (such as in Danny Boyle's Sunshine), it's a technique I wanted to try. :)

A good ride, plenty of action throughout and a lively cast of characters. Blending post-apocalyptic landscapes with layered character drama, Chris creates an ever-moving sense of pace and delivers lots of memorable moments through a great eye for action.

I was not sure if this was going to be a movie that I was going to enjoy but I must say that I really enjoyed it.  It's actually the sort of story that I like.  The Unknown.  Mysterious worlds.  A place where you don't know if you're going to survive or not?  You fall in love with the characters from the very beginning and you start cheering for them to get out of whatever predicament they get themselves into.  I don't want to give anything away for future readers but you definitely want to check this out.

9/10 - Good thrill!!

Thanks Andrew, it means a lot! I'm really glad you enjoyed it - I'm currently on a sci-fi kick so this was definitely something I wanted to do - a group of people moving from this almost-fierce independence and isolation to relying on each other in the midst of something utterly terrifying.

Glad you liked it and hope that future projects will be equally to your taste! :)

Dude, it's okay. :D

I can definitely agree with some of your critiques regarding the characters and the narrative - and while I personally had a blast writing it, it's cool that you didn't find as much fun to read and I'm sorry it wasn't your cup of tea. No big. Thanks for taking the time out to read it and offer your thoughts and advice, it means a lot. :D
