The MZPtv Buffyverse -- Complete VDVD Boxset Listing

Without Buffy the Vampire Slayer, we wouldn't be here. That's a fact. After Joss Whedon's groundbreaking show finally ran to its finale after seven glorious years with the worldwide activation of hundreds of new Slayers, Joss left the door open to the show's many fans around the world to pick up the baton and carry on running however they saw fit. And so, the 'Buffyverse' was born.

One such result was Season Eight, a virtual TV series project that went on to produce two full seasons and a movie finale to Buffy, and was one of the founding roots of MZP as it exists today. Soon afterwards, Angel joined the ranks with a virtual continuation by the same team, also running for two seasons with a movie finale.

The MZPtv Buffyverse expanded further with two new shows set within the continuity established by the parent shows - Faith, charting the exploits of former rogue Slayer Faith Lehane as she relocated to New York, and Slayer Academy, the exploits of the Rupert Giles Academy in England, whose students were all taken from the new generation of Slayers post-Buffy.

Other Buffyverse shows have made their presence known on MZPtv, operating within their own canon separate to our own Buffyverse - Connor and Hell's Gate quickly developed strong fanbases, along with the dimension-hopping Fate and several other series, all of which can still be found on MZPtv.

So let's get started with an overview of the four primary shows, before you delve further into the continuing adventures of Buffy, Angel, Faith and the girls of the Slayer Academy!

developed by Lee A. Chrimes & Darren J. Eldred
based on characters created by Joss Whedon

In a nutshell, Buffy Summers is The Slayer. A Chosen One destined to help mankind battle against the forces of darkness, plucked from her old life as a high school fashion queen and dumped into the murky world of vampires, demons and other things with more teeth than feels strictly necessary. After seven long years of fighting back the darkness in Sunnydale, California, home to one of the ‘Hellmouths’ (gateways into the underworld and beacons for all kinds of nasty), Buffy achieved the impossible by destroying the Hellmouth (and Sunnydale with it), and activating every ‘Potential’ Slayer in the world, creating almost two thousand new warriors for her ongoing crusade.

Relocating to Cleveland to tackle the next Hellmouth, Buffy and the Scooby Gang face challenges such as ancient gods, evil cults, scheming businessmen, malevolent spirits and blows that strike much too close to home. All the triumph, heartbreak, drama and action of the Buffy Virtual Continuation is now available in this Complete VDVD Collection!

developed by Lee A. Chrimes & Darren J. Eldred
based on characters created by Joss Whedon & David Greenwalt

A two hundred plus year old vampire, Angel terrified the civilised world as the evil-to-the-core Angelus for many years in the nineteenth century, with his vampire sire Darla by his side and the unlikely couple of Spike and Drusilla along for the ride. When Angel feasted on a gypsy girl Darla brought home one evening, Angel couldn't have known that the girl's grieving family would put a curse on Angel, restoring his soul and with it his conscience, filling him instantly with over a hundred years of guilt and remorse for the terrible things he'd done.

Drifting through the decades in quiet contemplation, Angel's life was forever changed when a demon guide known as Whistler pointed him Buffy's way, telling him she'd need someone on her side with what she had to face. In time, the two became lovers, but as I'm sure we know by now that never ends well...

Relocating to Los Angeles and starting up a detective firm with the catchy motto 'we help the helpless,' Angel found that his new foe was a powerful law firm with demonic owners called Wolfram & Hart, but after four years battling them he and his team were given the surprise offer to run the LA branch of Wolfram & Hart - an exercise in 'power corrupts,' it would seem.

Angel didn't play ball the way W&H's Senior Partners wanted, and after losing his colleague Fred to the demon God Illyria, Angel decided enough was enough and mounted an offensive on the Circle Of The Black Thorn, destroying the demonic criminal network in one night and bringing down the wrath of W&H's armies onto the depleted team. Defeat seemed certain, and as we left the Fang Gang in that alley, it seemed the Good Fight was well and truly over...

... but the story does not end on that fateful night. The Complete Angel Collection brings you both seasons of the celebrated continuation an the epic movie event Broken Wings that finished off the series. If, like many, you felt Angel and the Fang Gang still plenty more helpless to get out there and help, then this is the place to start!

created by Lee A. Chrimes,
Chris Kelly & Paul Robinson

Slayer Academy is set in the world of Buffy The Vampire Slayer, following a class of young Slayers as they enrol at the newly-formed Rupert Giles Academy, hoping to learn more about their abilities.

Italian born, British raised Sofia Romero was rescued from a demon auction by Xander and Giles, spending some time in Cleveland as she learned more of the Slayer trade fighting alongside Buffy. Seeing the Academy as the ideal place to develop her skills and abilities, Sofia is a natural leader with her self confidence and cool head under pressure already having gotten her out of plenty of trouble!

Former Cleveland High art student Skye didn't know she was a Slayer when a vampire attack turned her into some kind of hybrid - a Slayer and a vampire! Sent to LA where she spent six months working with Angel, Skye had just started a relationship with Spike when events in LA took a downward turn, and she accepted the offer to join the Academy in an attempt to find her feet again.

The Academy itself was founded by the late Rupert Giles, using a combination of Council funds and donations from several like-minded organisations to purchase and renovate an abandoned private school in England, his mission statement being to provide an environment where the new Slayer line could learn more about their new powers, and the responsibilities that come with them.

Catch up with Sofia, Skye, Emma, Frankie and Alita as they train to face the evil that lurks in the outside world, hoping that they'll get the chance to live a little in the meantime!
