Superman:  Redemption!
For the man he would become ....  See the family he left behind....

In a world much like Earth, lays a civilization similar to our own - but much more advanced.  The planet known as Krypton, that rotates close to it's own sun, the 'Green God of Rao'.

For centuries, the population of Krypton lived in peace amongst themselves.  Kryptonians and Kandorians.  But, after a disaster which almost threatens the end of civilization upon the planet and results in the loss of millions of lives that alters Krypton to become a world of ice.  One man leads the High Council to a decision that will change the course of history.

Jor-El, a genius Scientist and Kryptonian believes that their world is coming to an end, and tries to make the Council understand that the planet must be evacuated.  But, when the man he trusts in, his friend Zod betrays him, he discovers he must fight in order to survive a nightmare world he discovered, try to save his planet, and more importantly, protect the ones he loves from harm, no matter the sacrifices he must make .....

This is the 'new' story of how it all began....!

Starring:

Zachary Quinto As General Zod
General Zod is the leader of the security that protects the High Council.  The youngest ever to qualify for his position, his obedience to his position of the High Council and planet, and his loyalty to his friend Jor-El will be tested.  His love and passion for Faora will drive him to the edge of insanity and beyond, as he looks to take his righful place as leader of Krypton....

Scott Porter As Jor-El
Jor-El is a Genius Scientist, and from a long line of heritage in the House of El.  A family man, married to Lara who herself is the daughter of Lor-Van, leader of the High Council upon which Jor-El sits.  His compassion towards criminals of all forms, no matter of the lives they have taken will be put to the test when it strikes closer to home.  His world will crumble around him, and his hope for survival will force him to make a decision, a sacrifice that will change the course of humanity forever....

Co-Starring:

Blake Lively As Lara (Wife of Jor-El)
Lara is a beautiful young woman, and daughter of the Council leader Lor-Van.  Strong in her beliefs, and supporting of her husband, even against her father at times.  She will discover that family can bring pain and suffering, even from those close to you....

Kat Dennings As Faora Uh-Ul (Lover of Zod)
Faora is a Kandorian, who is passionately in love with General Zod.  Her sway upon him early on leads him to reconsider his beliefs and push him further into the darkness of insanity.  But most of all, Faora wants to provide a child for Zod, an heir to his throne he shall one day command over all of Krypton....

Hugo Weaving As Lor-Van (Father of Lara)
Lor-Van is an old man, whose wisdom is often blurred between truth and justice.  He is the leader of the High Council, and father of Lara.  Decisions he makes will alter the course of Krypton, and impact upon those he loves and cares about, and the world upon which he lives....

Robert Englund As Jax-Ur (Scientist)
Jax-Ur is a brilliant, but slightly old Scientist.  Some call him a madman whose actions resulted in the destruction upon the city of Kandor, and loss of millions of lives, resulting in Krypton becoming the Icy terrain that has now been formed.  Punished for his crimes, he still has a major part to play in the future of Krypton and more....

Virginia Madsen As Vond-Ah (High Council)
Vond-Ah is second in command upon the High Council.  Behind Lor-Van who she entrusts and cares about.  She supports him with all his decisions, which could be her downfall and bring more pain upon Lor-Van.

Well here we go, without giving too much away, and with my original plans intended to be a mini-series and with many changes over writing the story.  I bring to you now, the virtual film adaption of 'My Own' creation upon the beginnings of Superman.

Now, don't expect from it the full on 'look, a man can fly' in this adaption.  This is the story of the beginning, on Krypton.  The storyline we seldom see in films and television of the character, but given a few twists of my own ideas in there.

Beginning with what happened to lead Krypton become the Icy world we know of, to the loyalty tested between Jor-El and his friend General Zod.  Two men whose paths are on course for a showdown that will result in the world we know, changing....

Destruction.  Rise & Fall of Power.  Action.  Phantom Zone.   Love.  Death.  Passion.  Families Torn Apart.  Sacrifices.  And much more.....

This is where a hero begins....

This is where Legends are born....

This is where the world we know as Superman....

WILL CHANGE!

Note:  I am proud to say, that a 1st draft of this virtual movie has been written.  Took me several months and lots of hard work, many changes as I wrote it and more.  Containing 117 Pages (with credits etc).

Even though wasn't commissioned, this has been in my mind for a while and was something I wanted to have a go at writing even if it isn't accepted just for that experience, but hopefully will be liked.  The first full movie type script I have worked on and completed.

It will, I still feel, require someone with much more experience and a good sense of adaption to see where it can be improved and worked upon more.  I know it isn't perfect, but the basis of the storyline is there to work from.  Their are still parts I am also unsure of myself, but can be worked out I believe with notes from someone else.

I think something that focuses on the story of Krypton could make for an interesting read, and the Jor-El/Zod storyline has always intrigued me. I'd love to see a movie of that storyline.

As with your last idea (:D), I do wonder about your choice of title here. Without having read your script, and going only by your idea posted here, the title doesn't seem to fit at all, and even the use of the name Superman doesn't seem quite right. I wonder if you should perhaps try something featuring the word Krypton instead?

I dunno, just my two cents :D

Thanks Kyle.  I kind of agree about the title, again :)  I've always been unsure of using the name 'Superman' in the title as people would come to expect seeing Superman involved in it somehow, but he doesn't really.

My original name I used, when I was first attempting to write the story I used was:

'Green Sun'

I understand some may say, well the sun around Krypton was red, but like I say, I have made slight changes in my story which will be explained I feel in the story and I think adds a little more depth to the future storytelling if worked well with this idea of storyline.  Kind of a retelling of the original tale with slight changes to make it different to the story we all know and takes the future storytelling down a different path which could lead to more interesting scenarios.

Still a few things I think may need changing in this storyline as bits Im unsure of and stuff, so hopefully having someone look over it and see what they think and make notes on will help me look at it again and see what can improve it.  I'm in no hurry though, and know if anything will need some work on it but hopeful that a basis of storyline is there for me to work from.
